Which department is responsible for calibrating gas detectors?

This post was last edited by Pastoral Poet on 2015-10-12 at 11:17. Does anyone know which department is responsible for calibrating gas detectors for dangerous gases (flammable and toxic gases)? Should it be the Safety Supervision Bureau, the Quality Supervision Bureau, or the manufacturer?
Used for safety, it is a measuring instrument subject to mandatory inspection, and the task is carried out by the metrology testing agencies under the quality supervision department. My personal understanding.........
Our factory conducts self-calibration in its own instrumentation workshop, once per quarter; the personnel responsible for this calibration must hold the appropriate certification as metrology inspectors. The manufacturer sends the product to an inspection agency for testing, or contacts the inspection agency to conduct on-site inspections. The inspection agency is not the Quality Supervision Bureau; it is an organization approved by the Quality Supervision Bureau and falls under the category of public institutions

Common combustible gases, hydrogen sulfide, and carbon monoxide can be tested, but other gases such as chlorine, hydrogen chloride, and even hydrogen fluoride are generally not tested by metrology institutes; in such cases, it is usual to turn to specialized manufacturers for testing
