What flow meter is used to measure asphalt? Will a orifice plate work? How to verify? How to choose a control valve?
It is not recommended to use blank boards; how can you take pressure readings then? It’s so sticky and might get blocked. Try to choose those with low pressure loss. No matter which one you pick, remember one thing: never stop the heat tracing.
Mass flow meter, scraper flow meter, target flow meter
If the temperature conditions permit, consider an ultrasonic flowmeter. The traditional choice is a target flow meter. The biggest problem with this thing is that you have to start the pump when it’s time for it to melt after it has solidified; I’ve seen orifice plates get squeezed into a flared shape.
Using a wedge flow meter should be no problem
After careful consideration, a wedge flow meter is the best choice – it results in low pressure drop and minimal resistance, with pressure measurement taken from the diaphragms on the front and rear flanges
