Briefly describe the principle and process of producing potassium sulfate from phosphogypsum.
It mainly consists of two parts: In the first part, phosphogypsum reacts with ammonium bicarbonate in an aqueous solution to produce sulfuric acid and calcium carbonate; the by-product calcium carbonate obtained can be used to produce lime, cement, or for construction purposes； The second step involves the reaction of the sulfuric acid an solution with potassium chloride, under the action of a catalyst, at around 90 degrees Celsius, to produce potassium sulfate and ammonium chloride.
