Insulation for the manhole at the venturi of the pyrolyzer

Everyone, does the manway flange at the venturi of a typical pyrolysis furnace need to be insulated? I heard that flanges with temperatures above 600°C do not provide insulation. Is that true? Do anyone have such standards or information? Thank you!
We use insulation, but I heard from people at other ethylene plants that they only install heat-resistant nets, without using any insulation, because the access holes at the venturi area are prone to leaks, and it’s not easy to add insulation there. I’m not entirely sure either; does anyone know anything about this? Please give some guidance
