Are you serious about your child’s education?

Parents are a child’s best teachers; if you look around, you’ll find that many people bear the marks of a lack of proper education to some extent or another. As for the so-called quality education that is being promoted today, **only an outline is provided – there are no clear instructions or suggestions regarding what parents should do, how to do it, to what extent, or what methods can be used to assess progress. This has created many confusions regarding the education issue, which is of greatest concern to the Chinese people. In fact, aside from educating our children, what self-education should we as parents undertake as a result of our role in education, how to carry it out, and to what extent – there are no specific criteria for assessment or recommendations. Forget about differences in cultural levels or uneven regional development; the principles are the same in all cases. Anyone who is not lazy, isn’t foolish, and understands basic principles of how to conduct oneself can do it. Have those so-called masters of traditional Chinese studies, philosophers, educators, and the like in China failed to produce anything decent? Is it because the threshold is too low, the rewards are insufficient, or because it’s uninteresting? So the responsibility falls on us, the fellow sailors. What would you do in this situation? There’s no need for a complete solution – something useful will suffice.
