It depends on the degree of corrosion; some can last for ten or twenty years without any problems, while others may have a very short lifespan – it’s common for them not to even survive one operating cycle. For those individual tube bundles that are leaking, it is possible to seal the leaks and continue using them; only in cases where the core can be removed will consideration be given to replacing the entire tube bundle. For those with fixed tube sheets, the entire unit must be replaced.
It is reported that no corrosion allowance is considered for the heat exchange tubes, and carbon steel is prone to corrosion; therefore, it is unlikely that they can be used for a long time, such as for more than 5 years or 10 years. Is that the logic?
