After using the tubes in the feed gas preheater of our conversion system for one year, the heat exchange efficiency has decreased and the pressure difference across those tubes has increased. Could everyone please help analyze this issue?:(
There is no liquid level in the separator ahead of the preheater
During the maintenance period, check whether the heat exchanger is blocked by gasified coal ash. If there is no opportunity for maintenance at the moment, consult the personnel in the coal gasification unit, as well as the operators of the ash removal station and the wet washing unit, to see if there are any abnormalities in these areas
It was blocked before; the blockage was very hard, making it difficult to clear
What kind of furnace do you use for vaporization? It’s advisable to install a filter or a detoxification tank after the separation unit in order to remove dust or toxic substances from the raw gas. It’s better to have two such units, one in use and one as a backup. Then the clean gas enters the air-to-air heat exchanger

Use a high-pressure water gun to clear it; we’ve had clogs here as well
It is highly likely that the pipeline will get clogged by impurities in the gas; therefore, purifying the gas (through processes such as electrostatic precipitation or pressure swing adsorption before it enters the shift converter) is a very important step.
The high-pressure water gun can’t break it, and even using a drill is difficult :(
It needs to be addressed at the source; dealing with the problem after it has already arisen is certainly not a solution.
