Catalyzed diesel is a product of secondary processing, and its composition differs from that of regular diesel; the most noticeable difference is the higher aromatic content.
Accelerated fuel is heavier than regular fuel, has a higher bromine value, and requires more hydrogen!
The sulfur, unsaturated hydrocarbons, aromatics, and polycyclic aromatics in the diesel fuel to be processed are all much higher than those in diesel fuel produced under normal pressure, which results in a significant increase in hydrogen consumption in the hydrogenation unit.
