Calculation of the external pressure on the copper tubes in a fixed-tube-sheet copper tube heat exchanger; steam-water heat exchanger, with a design temperature of 100 degrees on the tube side and 193 degrees on the shell side. The design pressure is 1 MPa for all of them. When calculated using SW6-2011, the external pressure calculation for copper pipes failed to meet the requirements. The reason for this is that the external pressure curve for copper tube material T2 is only available up to 65 degrees; at higher temperatures, the software can no longer provide data. Who knows where to find the external pressure curve for copper tubes of type T2 with a temperature greater than 65 degrees? I consulted the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine, and they replied that I should contact the department responsible for standards. Can anyone help? Thank you!
:Lol, it shows that even the General Administration of Quality Supervision can’t solve it. See who drafted the standards for copper pressure vessels and consult them.
The designer of this product didn’t take into account factors such as external pressure and temperature within the range of use; since such standards don’t exist, it certainly cannot be used. Moreover, what you find elsewhere may not meet the standards recognized by the quality supervision authorities.
In JB/T4755, the allowable stress for copper T2 can still be found at 200 degrees; in other words, it can be used up to 200 degrees. However, there is only one external pressure curve for temperatures below 65 degrees; none exist for higher temperatures.
I didn’t look closely. However, it is possible to obtain calculation results for U-tube plate heat exchangers using SW6, with T2 tubes, a tube side temperature of 170, and a shell side temperature of 110.
