Dear friends from all over the world, I have a tricky problem. We are centrifugal compressors used in compression stations. After the lubricating oil is replaced, what should be done with all that old oil? It’s absolutely unacceptable to handle this privately; did the manager ask if there are proper channels? Do any of you have any good rules or suggestions? I asked other companies, and it seems that the task is handed over to the materials department or the drainage workshop for handling, but our organization doesn’t have any such workshops, and the materials department isn’t willing to take care of it either. That’s the situation; I hope everyone can give some good advice
Find a manufacturer to recycle it! Since no one will recycle it, let’s put it in a bucket for now!
There are specialized manufacturers for recycling; never dispose of it casually. Once environmental pollution occurs, such substances can remain in the environment for many years, and you will then be held responsible
Which manufacturers generally carry out recycling? Does Sinopec have any relevant recycling units?
So, should it be handed over to the drainage workshop for handling? Should it be secretly discharged outside? Is there such an irresponsible approach? I suggest you report such people without hesitation! Since one works in the chemical industry, it’s essential to be aware of the hazards associated with used oil; it should only be disposed of by qualified manufacturers, as there are specialized experts for such tasks!
I guess it was stolen and sold. I just don’t know if there are any legitimate large companies, preferably those within the Sinopec group, that can take it back, so that we can deal with it more easily

It depends on the amount you have: if it’s small, it can be used gradually within the company; if it’s large, it can be accumulated until a sufficient quantity is reached, after which it can be sold to qualified recycling manufacturers.
