Fluidized bed granulation, with a stable material level inside the granulator. Does the level of material in the granulator affect the discharge? Does it affect the particle size distribution of the finished particles?
There is definitely an impact; a higher material level increases the residence time, which in turn leads to an increase in large particles in the discharged material. On the contrary, when the material level is low, small particles will increase; therefore, the material level needs to be kept within a certain range.
Level fluctuations result in larger particles when the level rises, and smaller particles when the level drops. I understand this. For example, what is the discharge situation from the granulator when the material level is controlled at 60% and 80%, with these two levels remaining stable?
As long as the material level remains stable, there is no difference between 60 and 80; the liquid level may be higher, resulting in a poorer fluidization state and a higher discharge temperature.
