Should a screw pump be chosen with a long pitch or 2 stages?

Hello, original poster. May I ask what is the main purpose behind designing screw pumps with a long lead? Or, are there any advantages to long lead screws?
If the lead is too long, it is recommended to use a two-stage design to improve stability

The original poster is referring to single-screw pumps; the long lead length is designed to increase flow rate, and the flow rate can almost double for the same model. However, the pressure of screw pumps with a long lead length is generally kept below 0.6 Mpa. If the outlet pressure is greater than 0.6 and less than 1.2 Mpa, a two-stage pump should be selected.
If the long pitch in the design of single-screw pumps is intended to increase flow rate, then my 2-stage pump could also do that. Moreover, it seems to me that the price of single-stage pumps with long pitch and 2-stage pumps is more or less the same
