For a nitrogen pressure filtration tank with a working pressure of 1 MPa, which is equipped with a flame arrestor vent valve connected to the atmosphere, is it necessary to install an additional safety valve as well? (The medium inside the tank is ethyl acetate and an aluminum-nickel alloy catalyst.)
How can these two be set simultaneously? The presence of a breather valve indicates that the system is at atmospheric pressure, while a safety valve is used for systems under pressure! If there is a breather valve, then a safety valve is not necessary
Ethyl acetate is distilled under vacuum; I’m thinking of installing a breather valve to break the vacuum
I remember that ethyl acetate belongs to Category A; if the vacuum is broken, it’s better to fill it with nitrogen. It’s also advisable to install a breathing valve and a safety valve. When the reactor is not in use or is idle, it functions as a device at atmospheric pressure, but when it is in operation, it becomes a pressure vessel.
It depends on the maximum operating pressure that can be reached in your container, that is, the design pressure.
