Are there any time limits for lifting operations? ? For example, level 1 lifting shall not exceed 24 hours, level 2 lifting shall not exceed 48 hours, and level 3 lifting shall not exceed 72 hours? ? Our unit has set its own deadline; after the discussion, we’ll go do something else!
There are no requirements; the company can decide for itself.
I haven’t seen any time limit specified for this; operations should be carried out in accordance with the time limits stated on the work order or work permit.
How is the time limit mentioned by the poster defined? Is it a limit on continuous operation time?
That is, for example, if the weight requires level 3 lifting, then the permit for level 3 lifting specifies that lifting is allowed only for 72 hours; any extension beyond that time requires obtaining a new permit
Is the lifting classification specified by regulations, or determined by the company itself? I can’t say whether this is reasonable or not. But setting it at 72 hours, I think is not too short, but rather too long. Over a period of three days, the conditions for lifting operations are likely to change, such as rain or snow, strong winds, changes in geological conditions caused by rain or snow, changes in personnel, and so on. After working for a certain period of time and taking a night break, the conditions should be re-verified the next day and an operation permit signed. The continuous working time should not be too long.
It was decided by us ourselves; there’s no standard guideline for this. The standards state that no certification is required for loads under 10 tons, but our organization requires certification for all cases. This rule has been in place since the past, and considering the level of automation in our organization as well as the skills of our staff, to be honest, **with so many regulations, it’s really impossible to meet them all..... But we are working to improve things step by step
