Over the past two years, the basic chemicals industry has suffered severe setbacks, particularly the coal-based chemicals sector. With a sluggish market, overcapacity in industries such as coking, methanol, benzene hydrogenation, and caprolactam, coupled with pressures from both the market and environmental regulations, the basic chemicals industry is facing substantial losses. What is the way forward? Shift to specialty chemicals? Still. . . . Let’s talk, or share any good projects we have.
I think we should move in the direction of small-scale chemical manufacturing, and operate in the downstream markets for polymer materials and specialized sub-sectors, while implementing appropriate environmental protection measures. And study the use of waste. These are just my personal opinions; please don’t take them seriously
The market for small chemical projects is risky, and it is difficult for large chemical companies to undergo transformation. Should current large chemical enterprises wait for favorable conditions or transform as soon as possible? It’s hard to say.
You’re right, but I think a miniaturization effort involving sufficient products can prevent the market from fluctuating due to the dominance of a single product. Large chemical companies should gradually increase the diversity and relevance of their products.
Moving closer to the environmental protection industry and developing new technologies – but the overall environment makes it quite difficult to do so.
The healthy development of the industry requires a favorable market environment. Innovation needs to be protected. For a long time in our country, as soon as new products are introduced, they are copied as long as there is a market for them; those with patents are infringed upon, yet no action is taken to address this. Companies are unwilling to invest effort in developing new products, nor do they have the capability to do so.
For large-scale basic chemical companies to transition to the fine chemicals sector, it is impossible to do so without carrying out substantial organizational restructuring; not to mention whether there are enough technical professionals available. Such a transformation is basically seeking death.
Shifting towards the new energy industry! After the TPP, the avenues for some low-end chemicals were blocked, while the door to new energy remained open. The whole world is turning China into a hub for new energy production, thereby fostering its development.
The domestic market competition environment is truly a mess; look at those specialty chemicals – which one hasn’t been ruined by Chinese companies? Whenever locals get involved in such projects, it ends in disaster! **There are still problems in the approval process; projects keep being pushed forward at all costs, supply far exceeds demand, and companies are forced to the brink of collapse! Environmental regulations are very strict these days, and the entire chemical industry is facing difficulties!
It has nothing to do with **approval**. There aren’t so many regulatory agencies abroad; then why do we not see their companies acting recklessly? From an economic perspective alone, the root cause lies in the banks. If we look deeper into it,,, I won’t tell you :)
