I am measuring 320# thermal oil at a temperature of 270 degrees and a pressure of 3 KG; the density is determined using an orifice plate, and the manufacturer does not know this value. I need to calculate the differential pressure value. Online, some sources indicate a value of around 0.85, while others suggest around 0.75 – there is quite a large variation in these figures. Could some expert please help?
Seek a manufacturer of heat transfer oil; if the density is not measured accurately, the readings will certainly be inaccurate as well

Just ask the heat transfer oil manufacturer, or take some samples yourself, heat them up, and weigh them to find out
The density of heat transfer oil is related to its structure and the temperature it is at, and not to its model. As far as I know, the common types available on the market are alkanes and aromatics; the density at 25°C is around 0.86 for the former, while it is above 0.9 for the latter. It is recommended to ask the supplier for it, or simply measure it yourself using a hydrometer or a measuring cylinder.
Just ask the manufacturer for it! The value for Mineral 320 is generally around 0.85; if a bucket weighs 170 kilograms, then the value is around 0.7. Aromatic hydrocarbons have a density of around 0.93, and one barrel weighs 200 kilograms
