GB50341 stipulates that storage tank nozzles larger than 50 mm should be reinforced; however, if calculations using SW show that no reinforcement ring is necessary, is it still required to carry out reinforcement in accordance with GB50341?~
GB50341 stipulates that storage tank nozzles larger than 50 mm should be reinforced, taking into account not only strength reinforcement but also the effects of other loads including those exerted on the nozzles. When using SW6 for calculations, are the external loads on the nozzles considered?
1. Page P55 of GB 50341 states that the equal-area reinforcement method can be used for design calculations. In my opinion, the equal-area reinforcement method used here should be the same as that specified in GB150. Just be careful to follow the range specified in 10.2.2 of GB50341, as it differs from that in GB150. In that case, it can be calculated using SW6. 2. By using the pipe fitting thickness and length, as well as the diameter and thickness of the reinforcement ring recommended in GB 50341, no reinforcement calculations are required.
