What should be noted when installing a remote transducer rotor pump flow meter?
1. Metal tube float flowmeters must be installed vertically on vibration-free pipelines. The fluid flows through the flow meter from bottom to top, with a verticality of better than 2°; when installed horizontally, the horizontal angle is also better than 2° ; 2. To facilitate maintenance and replacement of flow meters as well as cleaning of the measurement pipelines, metal tube float flow meters installed in process pipelines should be equipped with bypass pipelines and bypass valves ; 3. The inlet of the remote-transmission type metal tube rotameter should have a straight pipe section with a length of at least 5 times the pipe diameter, while the outlet should have a straight pipe section of 250 mm ; 4. If the medium contains ferromagnetic materials, a magnetic filter should be installed ; If the medium contains solid impurities, it is advisable to install a filter between the valve and the straight pipe section ; 5. When used for gas measurement, it is necessary to ensure that the pipeline pressure is at least 5 times the pressure loss of the flow meter, so as to allow the float to operate stably ; 6. To avoid deformation of the flow meter caused by the pipes, the flanges of the process pipelines must be coaxial with and parallel to those of the flow meter. Pipe supports are used to prevent pipe vibration and reduce the axial load on the flow meter. In the measurement system, control valves should be installed downstream of the flow meter. 7. When measuring gases, if the gas is discharged directly into the atmosphere at the outlet of the flow meter, a valve should be installed at the outlet of the instrument; otherwise, a pressure drop will occur at the float, leading to data distortion. 8. When installing instruments with PTFE linings, do not tighten the flange nuts asymmetrically in an arbitrary manner, to avoid deforming the PTFE lining ; 9. For instruments with LCD displays, try to avoid direct sunlight on the display to prevent a reduction in the lifespan of the LCD ; For instruments powered by lithium batteries, it is necessary to avoid direct sunlight and high-temperature environments (≥65°C) to prevent a reduction in the battery’s capacity and lifespan.
