Regarding the requirements for equipment that are submitted by the process engineering department to the equipment engineering department in chemical plants, there are several issues I would like to consult with you on: 1. How should the material of chemical equipment be determined? What principles should be followed, and which standards should be referred to?; 2. Once the material for the equipment is chosen, how should the corrosion allowance be determined? Is there any basis for this? ; 3. How to determine the flange pressure rating and material, and how to find this information? ; 4. To find the allowable stress of the flange material in HG20592, should it be determined based on the design pressure and design temperature, or based on the operating pressure and operating temperature? ;

What principles are followed, and which standards should be referred to?; The equipment design is determined based on the process requirements, including volume, medium type, pressure level, as well as the types and positions of the required pipe connections. 2. Once the material for the equipment is chosen, how should the corrosion allowance be determined? Is there any basis for this? ; The corrosion allowance is not something to be considered in your manufacturing process; depending on the conditions of the container, there are corresponding standards, and it needs to be calculated in the design of equipment in accordance with relevant specifications. 3. How to determine the flange pressure rating and material, and how to find this information? ; The flange class is determined based on your process design requirements, after which the appropriate flange class is selected. 4. To find the allowable stress of the flange material in HG20592, should it be determined based on the design pressure and design temperature, or based on the operating pressure and operating temperature? ; Select the appropriate flanges and materials based on the design conditions; once the pressure rating is determined, there is no need to consider the material aspects. It’s just my personal understanding; please correct me if I’m wrong......
