Do liquid oxygen pumps require an explosion-proof wall according to industry standards? Does everyone have blast walls? Of the seven or eight plants I know, only one has its air separation pump located inside an explosion-proof wall........
Industry standards indeed require the installation of explosion-proof walls, but **few people check for this during inspections.
The oxygen pumps in the air separation processes I’ve encountered almost all have explosion-proof enclosures, but it seems that the oxygen pumps in the backup storage tanks don’t have such enclosures. I haven’t checked the relevant specifications carefully; if anyone knows where these specifications can be found, please let me know. I’m still learning about this.
