Hello everyone. I have just started using filter bags and am not sure about their scope of application. I wonder if filter bags can be used for flammable gases
Filter bags have a wide range of applications; they can be used for flammable gases. Advantages of filter bags: 1. High dust removal efficiency – capable of capturing fine dust particles with a diameter greater than 0.3 microns, with a dust removal efficiency of over 99%. 2. It is flexible in use; the air handling capacity can range from several hundred cubic meters per hour to hundreds of thousands of cubic meters per hour. It can be used as a small unit installed directly indoors, near machine tools, or it can be developed into a large dust removal chamber, namely a “bag house”. 3. It has a relatively simple structure, operates stably, requires less initial investment (compared to electrostatic precipitators), and is easy to maintain. Therefore, bag filters are widely used to eliminate dust pollution, improve the environment, and recover materials. 4. Dust treatment is easy. Bag filters are a type of dry purification equipment that does not require water, so there are no issues related to wastewater or sludge treatment, and the collected dust can be easily recycled. Disadvantages of bag filters: 1. Some flue gases contain a high amount of moisture, or the dust they carry is highly hygroscopic, which often leads to the clogging of the filter bags. To ensure the proper operation of bag filters, it is necessary to take appropriate insulation measures to prevent moisture in the gas from condensing. 2. Workers handling certain types of bag filters face poor working conditions, as they need to enter the filter chamber in order to inspect and replace the filter bags. 3. There is a limit to the temperature that these filters can withstand. Cotton and wool filter media can tolerate temperatures of 80–95 degrees, synthetic fiber filter media can handle temperatures of 200–260 degrees, while glass fiber filter media can withstand temperatures up to 280 degrees.

What is the gas handling capacity of a typical filter bag (for 5 microns)? Is the processing capacity of the filter bag related to gas pressure? Why? Thank you!
