What are significant figures? What is the meaning of the “0” in significant figures?
The last digit of the significant figures is the result of rounding, but adding another digit is meaningless, as that last digit already represents the limit of the precision of your measurement. For example, 10 might be a result falling between 9.5 and 10.4, while 10.0 is within the range of 9.95 to 10.04.

Regarding significant figures, zeros before a number have no effect on them, but zeros after a number do have an impact on the significant figures. Significant figures represent the precision limit of a value, with the last significant figure indicating the degree to which that value can be precise. For example, in 0.00345, there are three significant figures, but 0.003450 can be considered to have four significant figures.
Significant figures: Specifically, they refer to the digits that can actually be measured in analytical work. What can be measured includes the last estimated, uncertain digit. We call the accurate figures obtained through direct reading reliable figures; we call the figures obtained through estimation doubtful figures. All the digits in a measurement that reflect the size of the quantity being measured and contain at least one uncertain digit are called significant figures. All the digits from the first non-zero digit on the left side of a number to its last digit are the significant digits of that number.
