Do distribution rooms and transformer rooms need to be equipped with automatic fire alarm systems? Are all of them required to have such systems, and should factors such as the building area and the number of electrical equipment units be taken into consideration?
Typical substations are equipped with manual fire alarm systems and linear temperature sensing alarms; in addition, high-voltage distribution rooms require safety exits as well as emergency lighting

Unmanned substations need to be equipped with fire detection and alarm systems, as well as fire-fighting facilities such as sand boxes and dry powder fire extinguishers.
