Hydrogenation is a Class A fire and explosion prevention area; walkie-talkies with explosion-proof certification can be used. For higher requirements, the standards must be no lower than those for Class A fire and explosion prevention areas
The common explosion-proof rating for walkie-talkies available on the market is E*bIIBT3; such devices cannot be used in hydrogen-rich environments. If use in such environments is required, the explosion-proof rating should be E*bIICT3, and the price of such devices is likely to be much higher – in that case, it’s better to purchase an explosion-proof phone instead.

Our company’s EHS department directly requested a model with an explosion-proof rating of CT1. Is there any product in the world that meets this rating? Other workshops mentioned BT2 instead. . . Damn useless teammate, please suggest a solution.

I couldn’t find a rule stating that explosion-proof phones cannot be used as a substitute for walkie-talkies. The question is, can the rating of explosion-proof phones meet Class C? To be honest, I’ve never used a blast-resistant phone, so I’m not aware of the current level of protection offered by such phones
