I’ve been working on a project recently, and in that project a centrifugal pump can draw water in using DN80 seamless steel pipes, but it cannot do so when using fiberglass pipes of the same model. I don’t know why; please advise, experts! ! ! I am extremely grateful, thank you.
Then try using a plastic tube instead; could it be that its elasticity is too high? :o
This situation shouldn’t occur; check the sealing, as well as the connections and pipes for any issues.
I think it’s a sealing issue; the vibration caused by the pump operation may affect the sealing at the joints of the fiberglass-reinforced plastic pipes
I checked, and it seems the seal is fine as well, but it still can’t draw in water.
At first, it was thought to be a leak, but no problems were found upon inspection
Generally, a suction port is installed at the end of the fiberglass pipe; it has the shape of an inverted funnel and is also made of fiberglass. But it was hand-painted. The suction port is generally placed at a distance of 20–25 mm from the floor.
Hand-poured? :o The transfer system on ships, made of carbon steel pipes, also has such suction nozzles, made of carbon steel.
This post was last edited by zoujianx on 2015-12-16 09:04. I think there might be a leak; also, installing rubber flexible connectors at the connection points between the pump and the pipes can help reduce the impact of pump vibrations on the seals of the pipe flanges.
