I recently applied for a job at a newly established chemical company. Since the company didn’t have any sewage treatment system before, and no one else had done this work before either, they assigned me to act as an assistant supervisor. The entire project has been outsourced to a company specialized in sewage treatment. What should I pay attention to as the supervisor? When reviewing blueprints, I check to see if they are constructing in accordance with the plans and material lists, and I keep some documents for record-keeping. What else should be taken into consideration?

It’s a role that involves being more aware, informed, responsible, and diligent than a foreman; if you don’t have such capabilities, it’s better to give up on trying to be one. Only highly experienced people can supervise experts at work. Except for building pigsties and digging manure pits.
