Can straight-seam steel pipes (welded steel pipes) be used for pressure vessel shells? Which standards should be referred to in this regard?
I’ve heard of places where it’s allowed, and places where it’s not. Seamless pipes are usually used in normal operations.
Where is it not allowed? Are there standards?
If it is to be manufactured according to standard 150, whether it is steel plate or steel pipe, anything that isn’t mentioned in the material section cannot be used in pressure vessels manufactured under standard 150
Yes, the problem has been resolved now. You’re right; moreover, the standard cited at the beginning doesn’t include any standards for straight-seam low-carbon steel pipes, so they cannot be used
It seems that the use of welded pipes for equipment connections has not yet been permitted
