Not really; static sealing points generally refer to connections such as flanges and threads.
When I used to keep track of static seal points, the equipment engineer said that one weld joint counted as one static seal point. Today I saw someone say that it doesn’t count, and I was completely confused – I didn’t know whether it should be counted or not
When counting the number of static seal points, welds are not considered as static seal points. However, weld leaks must be included in the statistical calculation of the leakage rate at static sealing points. Requirements may vary from company to company; our company has required this since the 1980s.
