The unit is equipped with an E+H fmu40 ultrasonic level gauge. In the past couple of days, it has been showing a straight line on the display. Upon going to the site to check the gauge, an A641 fault alarm was detected. The manual states that this indicates the disappearance of echoes, but I’m not quite sure how to deal with this issue. Please, experts, let me know:P

A common phenomenon is the accumulation of medium condensate on the probe. . Have you taken it apart to check?
It was taken apart and cleaned thoroughly, but the alarm still went off
Additional information: The medium used for measurement is an alkaline solution; the temperature inside the tank is relatively high, and there is a large amount of steam. Further inspection revealed an E661 alarm as well.
It depends on whether the temperature was this high before as well Choke to death from such a large amount of steam? If it wasn’t there before, then it’s very likely to have an impact. Our facility also has alkali solution tanks, and EH ultrasonic waves are used there; the common issue is condensate problems.
661 is overheating. . . Generally, ultrasound is used at normal temperature and pressure. . . It’s very likely that the probe is damaged. . . Take it out, leave it in the office for a day, turn it on and shoot it at the wall to see if it can be restored. . . It is recommended that you repurchase and select a new option. . .
I’ve never used the E+H ultrasound device; it has serious problems.
Thank you all. After communicating with the process team, the steam volume was reduced; it is now showing normal values. The issue was inaccurate measurements caused by an excessive amount of steam, which led to the disappearance of echoes.
