Gentlemen, one of our company’s vortex flowmeters is showing an alarm of DSC sens defect 394#, but the instantaneous flow rate is present and within normal limits; it’s just the cumulative flow rate that is abnormal and not functioning properly. We’re not sure what’s causing this. The fluid being measured is steam. The remote output is 22 ma, and the computer shows a flow rate of 4600 kg/h. I asked E+H, and they said the probe is broken and needs to be replaced; the cost for service and spare parts is over 10,000. But I think the probe is broken; the instantaneous flow rate must be inaccurate. I earnestly ask for your guidance
It’s just for measuring steam; domestic products work perfectly well – vortex flow meters and orifice plates are both excellent options
Take it apart to check if there is anything attached to the probes inside, and also see if your steam contains water. . .
Since there is an instantaneous flow rate and it’s within normal ranges, it indicates that the probe is functioning properly; otherwise where would that instantaneous flow rate come from? And then they demand a high price – “We need to replace the probe, and the service plus parts will cost over ten thousand” – treating you as an outsider who doesn’t understand the situation. Don’t repair it, and don’t buy its products in the future either. With over 10,000, you can buy 2 domestic models ; Since there is an instantaneous flow rate, it makes sense to spend a few hundred yuan on a domestic flow accumulation meter.
The instrument indicates a sensor defect – the sensor is faulty. Therefore, the advice given for the service is to replace it; it is recommended to contact the sales team at E+H to see how to proceed. .
It is recommended to check whether the sensor wiring is loose. To accurately determine the instantaneous flow rate, it is recommended to change the operating conditions, increasing and decreasing the flow rate to see whether the instantaneous flow rate remains normal. A flow rate of 0 indicates whether to still display an alarm. Also, using a vortex flow meter for steam is not very good; it is recommended to use orifice plates instead
