For conventional air compression systems, ours is of the 42000/20000 type, which means it produces 42000 NM3/h of high-pressure oxygen and 20000 NM3/h of low-pressure nitrogen. Question: 1. What specific data does the so-called operational flexibility of 70%–110% refer to? 2. Why 70%? Instead of 60%? . Please answer, thank you!
70% of full load refers to the load at which the compressor can operate stably without discharge.
The operating flexibility range should refer to the amount of air processed. For sieve tray towers, this range is generally 80–105; for packed towers, it is 70–110, and in some cases it can even reach 120–130. However, air separation units are usually of the combined distillation type. Taking all factors into account, the operating flexibility range is considered to be 70–110. Upon further analysis, I believe that this range might be higher than 110. But since each piece of equipment is different, it’s not possible to define a precise range. According to the data provided by the manufacturer, under normal conditions, operating at 70–110% of the air processing capacity ensures the desired product purity. If your downstream equipment and air compressor allow it, you can operate at 60% load, but the purity level may not meet the required standards.
