The maximum operating pressure is the pressure that can be sustained on one side; this value cannot be changed. The range, on the other hand, is the difference between the upper and lower limits of measurement, and this value can be adjusted.
The range can be changed arbitrarily as long as it remains within the hardware’s support limits; however, there are restrictions on such changes. For example, if the instrument supports a maximum value of 100, the range can only be adjusted within this limit – values beyond it are not allowed. The maximum operating pressure is fixed and cannot be changed. It’s also important to note that during installation, one must pay attention to what the maximum operating pressure of the gauge is, and avoid installing it in areas where the pressure might exceed this limit.
The operating pressure range refers to the applicable pressure range, with the factory-set range corresponding to 4 to 20 milliamps
