Is it necessary to install a check valve on the gas inlet pipeline of a water ring vacuum pump?
It should be installed at both the inlet and outlet of the water ring pump.

Check valves are installed at the inlet and outlet of the water ring pump to prevent the liquid in the pump from flowing back into the vacuum pipeline and the system when the pump is shut down； Second is to prevent the water ring pump from reversing. It must be installed.

Yes, I disagree with adding it, and there’s no reason for it.
A check valve must be installed; it’s a basic requirement.
It is not necessary to use a check valve; if there is a pneumatic or electric valve at the inlet end of the pump, that valve can be closed before shutting down the pump.
