What is the difference between a UPS and an inverter, and which is more suitable for systems?
An inverter is a current conversion device that can convert direct current into alternating current, or vice versa. UPS is a device for providing uninterrupted power supply. Its principle involves a battery and an inverter: the mains electricity is converted into direct current by the inverter, which then charges the battery. If the mains power fails, the system immediately switches to using power from the battery, which is converted back into alternating current by the inverter for use by electrical devices.
