In our plant’s liquid ammonia storage tanks, the level gauges exhibit a red and white pattern regardless of whether they are in a disconnected state or in operation. There is also a sound of water flowing inside the level gauges; this phenomenon is more noticeable when the temperature rises. What causes the red and white pattern on the level gauges? How to solve it?
The magnetic force of the magnetic flip plate or float is insufficient, or the distance between the float and the magnetic flip plate is too large.
Regarding demagnetizing the magnetic flap, activate it with a strong magnet.
This situation can occur when the float gets stuck or freezes due to low temperatures. It is recommended to use an external-mounted level gauge, which requires no drilling, no use of fire, and no contact with the medium.
