I was at a site where compressed air was being measured; the pressure was 0.7 Mpa. The problem was that the transmitter showed negative pressure, indicating a leak on the low-pressure side (all leaks were later fixed), but the negative pressure reading persisted. It seems that there were errors with the transmitter and the three-valve assembly installed at that site – could this have an impact on the measurements? ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !
It is essential to distinguish between the high-pressure and low-pressure sides of a differential pressure transmitter. The H/L markings on the transmitter itself should correspond to the actual pressures present in the system. Additionally, it is important to check whether the high/low pressure switching module inside the transmitter is functioning properly; since it’s not known which type of transmitter you have, this is just a suggestion
For EJA differential pressure transmitters, they installed the transmitter and the three-valve assembly in reverse at the site (high and low pressures are now separated). Could this installation cause liquid to accumulate in the pressure lead pipes?
When measuring gases, the transmitter should be installed above the pressure tapping.
Close the three-valve assembly, drain the liquid, and check the zero point of the transmitter. Also, check whether the high and low pressure ports of the transmitter are level. If we rule out the possibility that it’s a transmitter issue. So check whether the flow meter is installed backwards.
It’s anti-terroristic, right? It’s just an iron rod; the person who installed it on site was probably from the construction team. It is recommended to turn it on for inspection
