By the end of 2013, the departments under the State Council had established a total of 618 various types of professional qualifications, including 219 for professional and technical personnel and 399 for skilled workers. Since 2014, a total of 149 professional qualifications have been revoked in 3 batches, accounting for 24% of the total number of professional qualifications established by State Council departments. Among them, there are 69 vocational qualifications for professional and technical personnel, and 80 vocational qualifications for skilled workers. Currently, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security is preparing lists for the fourth and fifth batches of professional qualifications to be abolished; the fourth batch includes 62 such qualifications, awaiting approval from the State Council. In this way, more than one-third of professional qualifications can be abolished by the end of this year. This morning, I saw that another 47 items were canceled! Even if it isn’t canceled, what relevance does the instrument qualification certificate have these days? What’s the point? Apart from those who are obtaining this certificate at school, there are also professional qualification exams offered by employers or social organizations. Basically, there are many people working as electricians, welders, analysts, and control operators; however, there is no such thing as a qualification certificate for instrumentation technicians. The field of instrumentation is too small, and it isn’t as developed or standardized as electrical engineering or equipment management fields. There are no qualification certificates or assessments related to instrumentation, and the entire industry lacks strict certification standards; registered exams related to this field don’t even exist. Strictly speaking, there is no such thing as a specialized field in instrumentation; schools offer only programs in measurement and control, metrology, and automation (with many different specializations). In recent years, organizations hiring staff have not recruited people with expertise in instrumentation (or automation) related fields. Few people study these subjects in schools, and there is even less demand in society. In some small organizations, electricians often take on additional duties as instrument technicians
Cattle..... practical skills are more useful than certificates
Compared to electrical systems and equipment, instrumentation does seem to be in a somewhat marginal position, with less visibility. There are qualifications related to instrumentation; the examinations for instrumentation technicians organized by the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Automation Association range from junior levels to senior technician levels, and these qualifications are quite recognized. There are also certificates for instrumentation engineers, but no images of them could be found online. Schools offering instrumentation programs at the college level include Nanjing University of Chemical Technology, Lanzhou Petrochemical Institute, and others! !

No, instrument technicians in the chemical industry have just been added to the list of workers engaged in special tasks. No matter how much streamlining occurs in certification processes, the aspects related to safe production will not be reduced.

A certificate consists of just a few pages; having them isn’t a big deal, and not having them isn’t a problem either. What really matters is one’s skills and abilities.
