The condensate from the steam heaters equipped with molecular sieves in our facility has always been discharged on-site, amounting to several hundred tons per month – it’s a huge waste. I now want to recover the condensate and feed it back into our turbine, after the 1.2 MPA steam valve (with a pressure of around 0.6 MPA). The temperature of the extracted steam is around 295 degrees, and the flow rate is about 25 tons per hour. The steam pressure required for the steam heater is 1.0 MPA. Does this approach work, according to everyone here? I hope everyone can explain how you handle the condensate from the molecular sieve steam heater in your systems Are there any better recycling suggestions? Thank you all~
The condensate from steam heaters can be recovered along with other steam condensates at the power plant, or it can be used for other heating purposes or to replenish water in pools, etc. We mainly take into account the heat source and water supply in your factory, and carry out the renovation accordingly.
Right after the steam heater, there is a gas-liquid separation tank; the liquid phase returns to the condensate network through a level control valve (a pump is used if the pressure is insufficient), while the steam returns to the inlet of the steam heater...
It’s not feasible to send the condensate from the steam heaters to the extraction pipeline of the turbine, as this would affect the steam extraction network. We will install a condensate tank in our entire area to collect the condensate from the steam heaters; the heated condensate will then be pumped back into the condensate network.
