With such a harsh winter in the coking industry, there are still large-scale projects being built! The first phase of the Hei Mao Coal Chemical Project in Houqi is being accelerated. Recently, it was learned from the Trade Promotion Association of Houqi that the project involves annual production of 6 million tons of washed coal, 2×2.6 million tons of coke, and 2×400,000 tons of LNG; the total investment is expected to be 7 billion yuan. The project received approval from the Autonomous Region’s Economic and Information Technology Commission in April 2013, with other preliminary tasks carried out simultaneously. Phase 1 is planned to produce 2.6 million tons of coke and 400,000 tons of LNG per year; completion and readiness for trial production are targeted by the end of 2017. In the second phase, construction will take place for 2.6 million tons of coking capacity and 2.8 million tons of methanol production, along with associated projects for coal tar, synthetic ammonia, and sulfur production. The project utilizes coke oven gas produced by the coking plant as raw material to produce LNG. Its exhaust gases are utilized further to develop downstream chemical products, thus creating a circular industry. 　　Once fully operational, this coal chemical project will be able to generate annual sales revenue of 4.5 billion yuan, achieve a gross profit of 1 billion yuan, and create 3,500 new jobs. 　　The Inner Mongolia Black Cat Coal Chemical Project is a newly established subsidiary of the listed company Shaanxi Black Cat Coking Co., Ltd. The company is located in the Qingshan Industrial Park of Houqi, covering a total area of 5,838 mu. The Hei Mao coal chemical project has completed dynamic compaction of 8 coke ovens, and the staff dormitory building has been constructed; the first phase of this project will commence construction on a full scale this year.
