Issues regarding weld qualification for dissimilar metal welding in pipelines: For example, do the weld qualifications that are approved for Fe-8-1 and Fe-4-1 cover all steel grades within these categories? If weld qualifications are obtained for stainless steel 316 and 15CrMo, are they applicable to welding other stainless steels of type 8-1 with 15CrMo? Also, does the weld joint of the 15CrMoG 219*12 pipe require heat treatment? I hope everyone will let me know
It is said that dissimilar steels cannot be welded directly, which leads to contact corrosion; Then 15CrMoG requires post-weld heat treatment~
The weld evaluation for the poster’s stainless steel 316 and 15CrMo was successful. Could you let me know how this was achieved? Is it 15CrMo cladding, heat-treated, and then welded to 316? What is the grade of the welding rod or wire?

Well, doesn’t welding different types of steel also depend on the environment? Chromomolybdenum alloy steel requires post-weld heat treatment, and this is how we proceed.
Well, what I meant was hypothetically; I was actually trying to find out whether the weld evaluation for welding F-8-1 and F-4-1 types of dissimilar steels covers the welding of these two types of steel together
