The carbon content of 16Mn is around 0.16%, but for other materials such as H03Cr21Ni10Si, the carbon content is 0.3% while the chromium content is 21% – so why isn’t it 0.21%? I don’t understand what determines this value.
The carbon content is a few parts per ten thousand, while the metal content is a few percent.
I’m not quite sure what you want to ask The Cr content in H03Cr21Ni10Si is about 21%. If it’s 0.21%, then it can’t be called this grade! ! It is named cr21 because the chromium content in the material is 21%. In H03Cr21Ni10Si, the ‘H’ refers to welding wire, while ‘03’ indicates that the carbon content is less than 0.03%, not 0.3%. Cr21 denotes a chromium content of around 21%, and Ni10 indicates a nickel content of around 10%. The extra Si is because the Si content is higher compared to that of H03Cr21Ni10.
The number before the grade indicates the C%00 content, while for other metals it is the percentage following the symbol. This is the coding principle.
