Some time ago, the treatment efficiency of our chemical wastewater system was poor, so we asked a technician for guidance on cultivating suitable microorganisms and carrying out adjustments. The SV value in the aerobic tank reached 65. He said that it was necessary to remove the dead sludge, and that it would take one or two months to restore the system’s functionality; therefore, sludge removal continued for a week, yet the SV value remained high. The contract with the other party wasn’t finalized, and the technician left; now I’m handling things on my own. It seems that the sludge in the filter press is still fresh, but the SV level in the aerobic tank remains high, with ammonia levels exceeding 100. Lately, no urea or sugar has been added either. The raw water contains less than 15 ppm of ether esters and benzene compounds, and its COD is around 10,000. The effluent from the anaerobic tank has a COD of over 3,000, while that from the aerobic tank is around 1,500. Aeration lasts for about 13 hours, although it’s required to be under 1,000. The processing capacity is 200 tons per day; however, the water distribution tank is too small, so about 100 tons of water are fed in during each shift, both day and night. The anaerobic tanks are large enough and can be separated from each other. The retention time in the anaerobic tanks is 6 days, and there are no fillers used – instead, sedimentation tanks have been added. I’m asking the experts if they can provide some technical support!
