I would like to ask for advice: if the height difference between the two designated ports on the device is about 20 mm shorter than the actual length of the level gauge, resulting in it being impossible to screw the lower flange in place, how should it be installed?
There was inadequate communication in the early stages, or the level gauge was selected incorrectly, or the location of the equipment openings was wrong. When none of these solutions work, add a bend pipe, fit a flange, and adjust the height accordingly. Is there anyone who does this? :o
It can be done that way; a difference of 20 centimeters won’t have much of an impact.
Wouldn’t that create more leakage points? Should the level gauge isolation valve be installed near the equipment or near the level gauge?
Installing the isolation valve near the equipment does indeed increase the number of potential leakage points. In some special cases, special measures can be taken to ignore the issue of leaks for now; the priority should be to get the instruments working properly so that they can be put into use
In other words, just connect it and that’s it? Will the inspection pass?
It’s 20 mm, 2 centimeters; it’s because the distance is too short for the elbow to bend around. Are there any other installation methods?
Cut off the flange, lengthen the upper and lower flange necks, then use oxyacetylene welding to see if they can be bent a bit; after that, weld the flanges back into place. 2 cm should be sufficient, but this is just my opinion – I haven’t tried it in practice;
Change table! The equipment generally doesn’t move easily; there are many programs involved, and it’s not clear what kind of gauge was installed – is it a magnetic flip-column level gauge? Or something else
It’s best to return or exchange it; if you want to use it, add a process short-circuit. With a length of two centimeters, the pipeline can be angled slightly so that it fits properly. First, make sure the lower flange is level to ensure accurate liquid level measurement – it should be fine to tilt the upper flange’s process short-circuit slightly.
