There is a sewage tank that uses a pump controlled by a level sensor to draw water out. The level sensor used is an immersion type one, and this results in fluctuations in the liquid level inside the tank. When water is pumped out, the level sensor also shows erratic readings and even negative values. It has been checked that there is nothing wrong with the level sensor; I’m seeking advice on how to resolve this issue
A float switch will do; a transmitter is too extravagant.
Install a stabilizing tube on the level gauge to maintain a stable liquid level, keeping it away from the inlets and outlets.
Is it not working properly? Calibrate it again
:Shut up: Just use a float level gauge for wastewater, that’s all. Save money.
The temperature inside can sometimes reach over 100 degrees
There are two reasons why an immersion level gauge shows a negative value: 1) the zero point of the gauge has not been properly calibrated, 2) the pressure-sensing element of the gauge is too close to the extraction port. To stabilize the display of the submersible level gauge, it is first necessary to maintain stable control of the liquid level in the tank – avoiding large fluctuations. The temperature should also be kept low enough to prevent vaporization; filters can be added to the DCS control system to help with this.
