Should neutralizing cleaning be considered for the pipes and equipment in the hydrofinishing unit?
It will be taken into consideration during maintenance, due to the tower opener. . . .
Some people say it’s only hydrocracking that is taken into consideration, while hydrorefining isn’t; I’m not quite sure about that
On my end, the hydroprocessing unit has not been subjected to neutralization or cleaning; instead, during shutdown, steam is used to purge the areas where welding takes place for an extended period of time. This is done to remove any flammable substances, and also because steam itself is slightly alkaline, which helps in this process
It needs to be cleaned before driving and during maintenance
Logically, hydrorefining could also cause corrosion by poly-sulfuric acids
That’s the outer wall of the heating furnace tube, right?···
It’s not the outer wall; it’s the inner walls of the reactor and the high-pressure stainless steel pipes
During maintenance, if dry conditions or a slight positive pressure can be maintained, it may not be necessary to use alkali cleaning. This is my personal understanding; I’ll just wait for experts to provide an answer
