State Administration of Work Safety: Effectively curbing the high incidence of pneumoconiosis and occupational poisoning. Yang Huaning pointed out that efforts to prevent and control occupational diseases are crucial for the health of workers and the harmony and happiness of their families, as well as for the sustainable and healthy development of the economy and society. They are also vital for achieving the goal of building a moderately prosperous society in all respects and realizing the ambitious goal of a \"Healthy China.\" These issues represent both significant livelihood concerns and major social problems. At present, the situation regarding the prevention and control of occupational disease hazards remains severe, with prominent contradictions and problems. Pneumoconiosis and occupational poisoning incidents occur frequently, and there is an urgent need to strengthen oversight of occupational health. Yang Huaning demanded that safety supervision departments at all levels should earnestly study and implement the important directives of state council leaders such as **** and Prime Minister **, further strengthen their awareness of critical limits, prioritize the interests of the people, and give greater importance to occupational health supervision work. It is necessary to clarify the division of responsibilities, give full play to the roles of local authorities, regulatory agencies, and social organizations, urge enterprises to assume their primary responsibilities, and work together to create a cohesive effort. It is necessary to focus on the present, emphasize key tasks, and address the hazards posed by dust and toxins; at the same time, it is important to think ahead, lay a solid foundation for future work, and gradually shift from focusing primarily on preventing and controlling dust and toxins to promoting the physical and mental health of workers. Yang Huaning emphasized that the work of regulating occupational health carries great responsibilities, arduous tasks, and a glorious mission. It is hoped that everyone will fulfill their duties conscientiously, take on responsibilities bravely, enforce the law strictly, thoroughly study work strategies and specific measures, prioritize action over words, strive for rigor and practicality, and effectively curb the high incidence of occupational diseases, particularly pneumoconiosis and occupational poisoning, so as to make every effort to protect the occupational health of workers. Li Zhaoqian summarized and reviewed the occupational health supervision work in 2015 from six aspects, fully acknowledging the achievements made, and analyzing the existing problems and the challenges faced. Li Zhaoqian demanded that in 2016, it was necessary to thoroughly implement the guidelines from the National Work Safety Conference as well as the instructions given by Director Yang Huaning. Efforts should be made to pursue reform and innovation, strengthen governance in accordance with the law, and focus on eight key areas of work: the development of regulations and standards, targeted measures to address high-risk dust and highly toxic substances, improving the efficiency of supervision, ensuring that enterprises assume their responsibilities, enhancing protective measures, building a coordinated oversight mechanism, strengthening publicity, education, and cultural initiatives, and improving the quality of the supervision workforce. All these efforts are aimed at curbing the high incidence of pneumoconiosis and occupational poisoning. The heads of the General Administration and relevant departments of the **Coal Mine Safety Supervision Bureau, as well as those of relevant public institutions and associations, along with the heads of relevant departments of China Railway Group and some central enterprises based in Beijing, attended the meeting at the main venue ； Responsible officials from the safety supervision bureaus of various provinces, cities, and counties, as well as staff from the occupational health supervision departments, some heads of institutions directly under the headquarters located outside Beijing, and relevant responsible officials from central enterprises with their headquarters outside Beijing attended the meeting at the satellite venues.
