For measuring the flow rate of industrial circulating water, differential pressure flow meters should be avoided as much as possible, since the high pressure loss leads to an increased load on the circulating water pumps. The best choices are electromagnetic flowmeters and clamp-on ultrasonic flowmeters; these two types of flowmeters have no internal resistance elements inside the measurement tube, so the pressure loss is negligible. They also offer adequate measurement accuracy along with a wide range of measurement capacities.
