Is heat tracing required for sulfur-containing dry gas? Thank you
:):):) We add 30mm of insulation here, along with hot water for heating
The purpose of adding heating is to prevent freezing due to water or steam condensate
Judging from your working environment, the Northeast keeps things warm.
This depends on the degree of liquid carried in the gas. If the liquid level or interface fluctuates significantly, resulting in severe liquid carryover in the gas, heating must be provided; otherwise, pipeline blockages can easily occur at low temperatures
In Shandong, the catalytic dry gas systems do not have heat tracing (but they do have insulation); as for the hydrogenation low-pressure gases, out of the four units, only one of our units is equipped with heat tracing. When the flow rate of these low-pressure gases is low, it is observed that they contain a high amount of oil.
Low-temperature hot water tracing with insulation is used; the lowest points in that area are prone to accumulate liquid and freeze
If the temperature is very low, it is recommended to add it; our acidic gas lines contain water, and freezing occurs frequently these days.
