When performing a hydrostatic test on a plate heat exchanger, can compressed air be used to apply pressure right after filling it with water? The air compressor has a pressure of around 6-7 kilograms.
This is risky, right? However, it seems there is a standard (pipeline or container) that requires testing for water pressure, air pressure, airtightness, as well as testing with both water and air.
This is equivalent to a gas-liquid mixture, and safety considerations need to be taken into account.
