Seven major ethylene production bases will gradually be established across the country, with half of the provinces having a petrochemical industry. Natural gas consumption will reach 250 billion cubic meters in 2015, and 350–400 billion cubic meters by 2020 ; The next 510 years will be a period of significant development for our country, following the completion of Project West-to-East Gas Transmission Lines 1 and 2 as well as the Project to Transport Gas out of Sichuan ; Large-scale natural gas liquefaction (LNG) is also an area that needs to see significant progress and development during the 12th Five-Year Plan period, and ultra-low temperature valves are required for this purpose ; Our country has signed intent agreements in the Middle East to develop two gas fields with a capacity of 25 million tons per year each. III. In the field of environmental protection, there will continue to be strong market demand for environmental protection industries during the 12th Five-Year Plan period. Flue gas desulfurization and denitration in thermal power plants, valves for industrial and municipal wastewater: Special valve products are required for complete sets of equipment used in municipal waste incineration and heat utilization, as well as for large-scale seawater desalination systems. IV. Power Sector: In terms of the development of China’s power industry, it is estimated that by 2015 the installed capacity will be around 1.4 billion kilowatts. Of this, hydroelectric power will account for 280–290 million kilowatts, nuclear power for 40–43 million kilowatts, and wind turbines for 90–100 million kilowatts ; It will reach 1.6–1.8 billion kilowatts in 2020. Of this, the installed capacity for hydropower is 380 million kilowatts, for nuclear power it is 70–80 million kilowatts, and for wind turbines it is 150–160 million kilowatts. Conventional thermal power generation will maintain a reasonable growth rate until the later stage of the 12th Five-Year Plan period. The demand for valves in supercritical (ultra-supercritical) thermal power generation will not decline; rather, it will bring new development opportunities. V. Coal chemical industry: During the 12th Five-Year Plan period, the coal chemical industry will develop at a moderate pace, with coal-based olefins and coal-based acetic acid offering particularly good prospects for growth. Relying primarily on major project constructions such as Guizhou Kaiyang’s 500,000 tons per year synthetic hydrogen project, Inner Mongolia’s 000,000 tons per year coal-to-methanol project, Tianjin Alkali Plant’s 200,000 tons per year acetic acid project, and Shaanxi’s 1000,000 tons per year methanol-to-olefins project, these initiatives drive the development of technical equipment in China’s coal-based chemical industries, including those related to methanol, acetic acid, and olefins; as a result, a large number of special valves are required. VI. Metallurgy Sector: During the 12th Five-Year Plan period, the main goals and tasks of China’s steel industry were to adjust the industrial structure and build a modern steel industry. The focus of product development is on steel grades for which domestic production capacity is insufficient or unavailable at present, with technological upgrades aimed at saving energy and reducing consumption as well as minimizing environmental pollution. Some metallurgical valve products are required as accessories. The industry is evolving, and competition is intensifying. Only by leading in technology can high-quality products be manufactured. Technical processes are an important indicator to determine whether a company is advanced, competitive in the market, and able to stay ahead of its competitors. With the rapid development of China’s pump, pipe, and valve market, the application and research and development of related core manufacturing technologies will surely become a focus for enterprises in this industry. It is precisely because of this technological gap that the valve market in our country features a situation where there are too many competitors and not enough opportunities. The most fundamental way to change this situation is to improve the quality of valves, as quality is the key factor that determines a product’s performance.
